There are some good whitewater spots on Mineral Creek - South; since you're here at Island Lake it's a pleasant idea to check out Ice Lake Basin. If you need a location to stay Hotel Columbia is a great choice; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Telluride while you're here. Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Island Lake. You can never get enough of the perfect skiing at Silverton. This lake is

No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Island Lake. Island Lake is right by the Brooklyn Trail, and if you're here, you could explore Clear Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at South Mineral Campground since you're here at Island Lake, and Island Lake is not the only location | |

close by, Ice Lake is a close by lake. Dry warm beds await you at The Ice House Lodge, obviously you could also pop by Alta Reservoir Number 1 since you're here; it's not far at all. The Highline Trail offers hiking at its best,
and if the weather is wonderful, you obtain a magnificent vista of Fuller Peak from Island Lake. High temperatures at Island Lake throughout the summertime are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. Highs during
the winter are generally in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Island Lake fall into the 0's. If you came for an overnight stay Riverwood Inn and RV Park is a tremendous spot to camp, and Swamp
Canyon is certainly a fine spot to have a look at. Around Island Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is June.
