    It's always fun to stop by Island Lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Island Lake has to offer, you can camp at Riverwood Inn and RV Park, and you're possibly hooked on lakes, Alta Reservoir Number 1 is one of those nearby. For the duration of the summer highs here at Island Lake reach the 70's while nighttime lows are generally in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while Island Lake nighttime low temperatures during the  
   wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Silverton is close to Island Lake, and Island Lake is right by the Brooklyn Trail.
Not much precipitation falls here at Island Lake; most of the rain falls throughout July while June is regularly the driest month. From Island Lake you obtain a great sight of Fuller Peak, and if you need a place to stay Ice House Lodge is a delightful choice. Whohoo, so many amusing
 
               things in one place! Island Lake rocks! Hiking along the Sheep Trail is good fun, and get your pulse rate up on the nice whitewater of Mineral Creek - South.
All the outdoors fun things in the vicinity of Island Lake will keep you coming back over and over. You can run the rapids of Lime Creek right next door to Island Lake. A quick trip to Clear Creek near Island Lake is a splendid idea, and Swamp Canyon is certainly a great location to go to. You should positively dedicate some time to Ice Lake Basin since you're here at Island Lake, and you can stay the night at South Mineral Campground.
Nearby lakes? Sure, Ice Lake is near Island Lake, and a day on the slopes of Telluride is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Highline Trail, and a good close by hotel is Camels Garden.
