Not much rain falls here at Island Lake; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Through the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 70's at Island Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's; nighttime lows at Island Lake through the winter regularly sink into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Going for       a hike along the Divide Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and if you came for an overnight stay La Garita Creek Ranch is a great location to camp. Why not camp at Saguache Creek Lodging and RV while you're here at Island Lake, and if you need a site to stay Big Valley Hotel is a nice choice. Take a hike on the Coleman Cutoff Trail; after a long day outdoors Lodge at Saguache is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. Yeah,                  come here to Island Lake for a brilliant time.
