This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Skyline Campground is always a wonderful experience, and the vista of stunning Clark Peak is wonderful. Go for a hike on the Blue Lake Trail, and camping is available at Tunnel Campground. That right there is heaps of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Medicine Bow Mountains has it all. Going for a hike on the North Fork Trail is always a nice adventure, and Carey Lake is a nearby       lake that you could stop by. Don't leave Island Lake without first going for a hike along the West Branch Trail, and there are some perfect whitewater spots on Joe Wright Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the Medicine Bow Mountains. It is very arid here at Island Lake ordinarily; May is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is January. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things                  in the Medicine Bow Mountains. A brilliant nearby hotel is Gateway Inn Restaurant Cnf Ctr. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Island Lake. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 30's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Island Lake. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do near Island Lake.
