If you are traveling by, why not stop by Island Lake. You can run the rapids of Joe Wright Creek near Island Lake. There's so much to do here at Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Tunnel Campground is a brilliant site for that. This lake is one of the great places here in the Medicine Bow Mountains. So many entertaining things close to Island Lake, just phenomenal. Here at Island Lake you can see Clark Peak; close by you come across the North

This lake is so wonderful. You could also check out Kelly Lake while you're here at Island Lake; it's nearby. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Island Lake has to offer, you can camp at Skyline Campground. Just can't get enough of the Medicine Bow Mountains. Cache La Poudre River is a great whitewater spot close to Island Lake, and going for a hike on the Blue Lake Trail is always a splendid adventure. | |

Not much precipitation falls here at Island Lake; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
Nearby lakes? Sure, Jewel Lake is near Island Lake, and you can go for a hike
on the West Branch Trail. And if that's not enough there's a lot more cool things to do in the Medicine Bow Mountains. After a long day outdoors Gateway Inn Restaurant Cnf Ctr is a splendid site to spend a night or two. Through the
summertime at Island Lake highs are commonly in the 70's while night lows are regularly in the 30's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's, and overnight lows through the winter for Island Lake tend to be in the 0's.
