Yep, outdoors cool things truly is plentiful here in the Sawatch Range. Island Lake is a pleasant spot to visit for more than one day, Belle of Colorado Campground is a pleasant spot to camp nearby, and a splendid spot to stop by is Gleason Gulch. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sawatch Range. Arkansas River has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby; do set aside some       time for Tennessee Park if you're here at Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Ski Cooper are so inviting noone can resist, and after a long day outdoors Silver King Inn is a tremendous site to spend a night or two. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Island Lake. If the weather is wonderful here at Island Lake, you can go for a hike along the Highline Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Leadville. Stay the                  night at Sugar Loafin' RV/campground, and a delightful lake like Diamond Lake is a perfect spot to stop by. It is very dehydrated here at Island Lake regularly; most of the rain falls through August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. The Mount Massive Trail is a perfect hiking trail in the neighborhood of Island Lake, and golf can be played at MT Massive Golf Course. Through the warm days of summer at Island Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are mostly in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Island Lake temperatures drop to the 0's. Whitewater paddling is nice on Arkansas River; you'll stumble on a picturesque lake called Home Lake. Be careful coming to Island Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again. What would winter be without some skiing at Copper Mountain.
