On a wonderful day at Island Lake you can take a hike along the High Trail, and a lake close by is Little Gem Reservoir. At Island Lake all through the summertime highs are in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs through the winter are typically in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Island Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Island Lake is not       the only spot nearby, Deep Slough Reservoir is a nearby lake, and if you need a site to stay Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge is a great choice. Be careful coming to Island Lake, you might not ever wanna return home again. There's so much to do here at Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Little Bear Campground is a glorious site for that, and Island Lake Dam is an attention-grabbing thing to check out. Island Lake is pretty arid regularly; most                  of the rain falls throughout October while January is typically the driest month. Really great skiing awaits you at Powderhorn; there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Foot Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The Cottonwood Lakes Foot Trail is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Island Lake; a perfect close by hotel is Comfort Inn Delta.
