Island Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Island Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sawatch Range. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Island Lake with overnight lows in the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and night lows all through the wintertime for Island Lake tend to be in the-20's. Man, is there heaps of cool things to do in the Sawatch Range. Lakes? Sure, North Fork Reservoir is nearby,

| | and there's whitewater on Arkansas River for all you adrenaline junkies.
Around Island Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; during August this area sees the most rain; June on the other hand is the driest. The Fooses Creek Trail offers hiking at its best, and why not camp at Monarch Park Campground since you're here at Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A fine close by hotel is Buena Vista Super 8 Motel; everyone close by loves skiing at Monarch.

You clearly should like the Sawatch Range. There are other sites here than Island Lake, for example Billings Lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Browns Creek Trail. You can run the rapids of Arkansas River next to Island
Lake, and a tremendous spot to camp here at Island Lake is Garfield Campground. Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Island Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Vista Inn
is a splendid place to get some rest; close by you stumble on Chalk Creek Pass which is a pleasant site to take a look at. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Island Lake. Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park
is a very nice place to visit next to Island Lake, and at North Fork Dam right next door to Island Lake there are some exciting things to see. Mount Aetna is picturesque and can be seen from Island Lake, and Island Lake is right by the Pitkin Stock Driveway.
