Around Independent Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Independent Reservoir, you'll locate McCall Reservoir which is a striking lake, and       Residence Inn Boulder Longmont is a great site to get some rest. Going for a hike on the Green Mountain Trail is always a fine adventure, and if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LONGMONT is a perfect choice. There is a great hiking trail close to Independent Reservoir called the Saddle Rock Trail, and Rocky Mountain National Park is a very good place to explore. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Saint Vrain Creek - North near Independent Reservoir, and one of the governing characteristics of the surroundings of Independent Reservoir is Rabbit Mountain. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the area next to Independent Reservoir has to offer. Near Independent Reservoir you locate the Round Mountain Trail which is a perfect hiking trail, and since you're here you can play some golf at Haystack Mountain Golf Course & Driving Range. If you came for an overnight stay Longmont Koa Kampground is a nice spot to camp; nearby you locate Lykins Gulch which is a fine place to stop at. And that's not all you can do here at Independent Reservoir. At Independent Reservoir through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's.
