There's so much to do here at Independent Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Longmont Koa Kampground is a wonderful place for that, and Rocky Mountain National Park is a very fine place to check out. Independent Reservoir is mostly a quite arid site; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month is January. This is a nice neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Burch Lake is a lake       in the vicinity, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Saddle Rock Trail. After a long day outdoors Residence Inn By Marriott Longmont Boulder is a great place to spend a night or two; a round of golf at nearby Haystack Mountain Golf Course & Driving Range is a pleasant way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LONGMONT is a splendid location to get some rest; going for a hike on the Round Mountain Trail                  is always a delightful adventure. The summit of Rabbit Mountain can be made out from Independent Reservoir. Do explore Independent Dam since you're here at Independent Reservoir, and you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Boulder here. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Paddling on Saint Vrain Creek - North is so much fun; there are tremendous places to discover along the Green Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Stone Mountain Lodge and RV Park is a good site to do that, and close by you stumble on splendid places like Lykins Gulch. Summer at Independent Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
