During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's while Independence Lake night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Lake Creek, and camping is available at Portal Campground. Not much precipitation falls here       at Independence Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Lost Man Campground is always a great experience, and striking scenery and great skiing is what you acquire at Aspen Mountain. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing stuff to do in the Sawatch Range. This is a tremendous neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Blue Lake is a lake close by, and on a perfect                  day you can take a hike along the Highline Trail. Independence Lake in fact is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. After a long day outdoors VillaHotel Bears Creek is a delightful place to spend a night or two; the peak of Geissler Mountain can be seen from Independence Lake. You clearly must love the Sawatch Range. If the weather is good here at Independence Lake, you can go for a hike along the Sawyer Lake Trail, and The Alpenblick By Aspen Lodging Company is a tremendous place to get some rest. There's whitewater on Roaring Fork for all you adrenaline junkies, and going for a hike along the Mount Massive Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Nearby lakes?
