Stay the night at Purgatory Campground, and Papoose Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. There's tremendous hiking along the       Highline Trail, and lots of folks from Durango come here. Paddling on Animas River is so much fun; Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel is a good site to get some rest. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Cascade Creek flows through this area; drift down the rapids of Canyon Creek in a kayak. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The Circle Trail offers hiking at its best, and                  the slopes of Silverton are so inviting nobody can resist. There's so much to do here at Ignacio Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Haviland Lake Campground is a splendid spot for that, and Ignacio Lake is right by the Goodhope Stock Driveway. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Kendall Mountain is a great site to do that, and if you need a place to stay Purgatory Lodge by Durango Mountain Resorts is a brilliant choice. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Aspaas Lake; at Lake of the Pines Dam close to Ignacio Lake there are some attention-grabbing things to see. Ignacio Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Summertime highs at Ignacio Lake usually tend to be in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 30's.
