We hiked Chicago Lakes Trail to the reservoir - had a picnic there and then go on up to Chicago Lakes. The fishing was looking good at the resevoir, the water was calm. Are canoes aloud on the water? - April C.

     While you're here at Idaho Springs Reservoir you can take a hike along the Chicago Lakes Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Idaho Springs Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Ranger Station. All the outdoors cool stuff in close proximity to Idaho Springs Reservoir will keep you coming back persistently. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Echo Lake. There's so much to do here at Idaho Springs Reservoir  
   that you need to camp here for a while, West Chicago Creek Campground is a perfect place for that. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Front Range. On a splendid day at Idaho Springs Reservoir you can take a hike along the Rosalie Trail, and after a long day outdoors Georgetown Mountain Inn is a brilliant place to spend a night or two.
Summer at Idaho Springs Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 60's.
 
               All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 30's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Idaho Springs Reservoir dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Arapahoe Basin. The amount of precipitation that falls at Idaho Springs Reservoir is close to the national average; most of the snow falls throughout April, and the driest of the months is October.
This lake is so wonderful. There is a pleasant hiking trail near Idaho Springs Reservoir called the Abyss Trail; here at Idaho Springs Reservoir you can spot Devils Nose. This lake is one of the great places here in the Front Range. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Idaho Springs Reservoir, you'll stumble on Lincoln Lake which is a delightful lake, and the skiing at Winter Park is good.
Soar down the rapids of Clear Creek in a kayak, and if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Georgetown is a delightful choice. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Front Range. Idaho Springs Dam is an interesting thing to check out, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Clear Creek.
