After a long day outdoors Iron Horse Resort is a good site to spend a night or two, and float down the rapids of Clear Creek - West Fork in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Ice Lake is right by the South Boulder Creek Trail, and Berthoud Pass has brilliant slopes and a friendly staff. If you come at the right time of year, Clear Creek offers some       great whitewater, and why not take a refreshing hike along the James Peak Lake Trail. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Ice Lake. Midland Campground is a nice local campground; you acquire a good panorama of Mount Bancroft from here. At Ice Lake you don’t see much rainfall; throughout August this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time                  here at Ice Lake. Ice Lake is a splendid location to visit for more than one day, Spruce Lodge Campground is a splendid location to camp nearby, and Lake Caroline is a perfect lake close by. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at Ice Lake Dam, and magnificent skiing awaits you at Winter Park. Summertime highs at Ice Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's while nighttime lows are usually in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Ice Lake dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
