Mount Bancroft is pretty and can be seen from Ice Lake, and the slopes of Berthoud Pass are so inviting noone can resist. All the outdoors enjoyable things near Ice Lake will keep you coming back persistently. Ice Lake is pretty arid generally; throughout August this area sees the most rain while February is typically the driest month. There is a good hiking trail in the neighborhood of Ice Lake called the Mary Jane Ski Trail, and there are some good whitewater spots on Clear Creek. This lake is so wonderful.
