Comfort Inn Vail Valley is a good place to get some rest, and Hurt Dam has nice water scenery. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Colorado River offers some tremendous whitewater, and you can go for a hike on the Red Canyon Stock Driveway. High temperatures at Hurt Reservoir during the summer months are in the 70's, and       throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's while Hurt Reservoir overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. Just can't get enough of Hurt Reservoir. Do have a look at Domantle Lake near Hurt Reservoir, it's a delightful lake, and camping is available at Sylvan Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Cache Creek Access Trail is always a good adventure, and Little                  Dutton Spring is a striking location to go to while you're at Hurt Reservoir. Hurt Reservoir is frequently a rather arid place; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is February. Good hiking is available along the Salt Creek Trail; a brilliant nearby hotel is SilverLeaf Suites of Eagle. If you came for an overnight stay Toponas Creek Campground is a pleasant place to camp, and a glorious place to visit is Coberly Gap.
