For the period of the summer at Hunts Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Hunts Lake.

All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. A spree to Green Gulch is always fun, and a
magnificent nearby hotel is Salida-Days Inn. Have a great hiking adventure along the Simmons Peak Trail, and you can run the rapids of Arkansas River. Going for a hike along the Round Hill Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty
of this neighborhood, and Hunts Peak is painless to spot from Hunts Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop at West Creek Lake while you're here at Hunts Lake; it's close by, and San Isabel National Forest is a forest
that you can go to. At Hunts Lake you don’t see much rain; the month with most of the rain is August while January is regularly the driest month.
