This is a tremendous vicinity for folks who like lakes. West Creek Lake is a lake close by, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Arkansas River. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Bushnell Lakes; at Hunts Lake you can catch a sight of Hunts Peak. Just can't get enough of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you came to camp Sugarbush Grocery and Camp is a glorious site to do that, and Days Inn       Salida is a perfect spot to get some rest. Hiking along the Hunts Lake Trail is magnificent fun, and San Isabel National Forest is a splendid local forest. At Hunts Lake you don’t see much rainfall; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. And that's not all the things to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Simmons Peak Trail, and close by Green                  Gulch is a perfect location to go. This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Salida; paddling on Arkansas River is so much fun. This lake is located in the wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. This place, Hunts Lake, it definitely has so much outdoors cool stuff. There's so much to do here at Hunts Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Four Seasons RV Park is a pleasant site for that, and going for a hike along the Round Hill Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Summertime highs at Hunts Lake typically tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's.
