Broken Arrow Ranch is a good campground nearby, and Metroz Mountain is clearly visible from Hunters Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hunters Lake; Rainbow Trail is a good local trail; if you came for an overnight stay Park Creek Campground is a fine location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. The Spruce Lodge is a nice place to get some rest; if you get bored of Hunters Lake you could also stop at close by Hunter Reservoir. So many fun things

Hunters Lake is not the only location close by, Lake Humphreys is a close by lake, and don't leave Hunters Lake without first checking out Stair Steps. Hunters Lake is a beautiful lake in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. So much fun stuff to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too great to be true. Hunters Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's while night lows are frequently in the 30's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 20's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Hunters Lake tend to be in the-10's.
Not much rainfall falls here at Hunters Lake; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. All year is a splendid time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you love the outdoors.
You can run the rapids of Rio Grande near Hunters Lake, and if you need a location to stay Allington Inn and Suites is a glorious choice.
