Hunt Lake is located in the Sawatch Range. At Hunt Lake throughout the summer highs are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 30's. Through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's, and night lows through the wintertime for Hunt Lake tend to be in the-20's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Buena Vista Super 8 Motel is a delightful spot to spend a night or two; there is a perfect       hiking trail close by called the Quakey Mountain Trail. Yeah, come up here to the Sawatch Range for a fine time. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Arkansas River, and there's always Boss Lake Dam to take a look at in close proximity to Hunt Lake. This place, Hunt Lake, it clearly has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Waterdog Lakes is a great lake in the vicinity of Hunt Lake; nearby you hit upon the Pitkin Stock                  Driveway which is a fine hiking trail. Here at Hunt Lake you can catch a glimpse of Bald Mountain, and you can stay the night at Monarch Park Campground. There's so much to do here at Hunt Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Garfield Campground is a great place for that, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Fooses Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Monarch around here. All the outdoors fun things in the Sawatch Range will keep you coming back again and again. Lakes? Sure, Ross Lake Reservoir is nearby; Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is one of the destinations that are tremendous to go to close by.
