So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Sawatch Range, not enough time. A good place to camp here at Hunkydory Lake is Monarch Park Campground, and close by you stumble on wonderful sites like Columbus Gulch. This lake is located in the wonderful Sawatch Range. For the duration of the months of summer highs here at Hunkydory Lake reach the 70's, and the nighttime is somewhat cooler of course, commonly in the 30's. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Buena Vista; camping at Garfield Campground is always a wonderful experience. There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Hunkydory Lake called the Browns Creek Trail, and North Fork Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. Lake? North Fork Reservoir is in the vicinity; the Fooses Creek Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. You're almost certainly addicted to lakes, Boss Lady Reservoir is one of those close by; getting
to Cyclone Creek from Hunkydory Lake is easy.
Near Hunkydory Lake you locate the Quakey Mountain Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and a pleasant tour to Hoffman Park is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Hunkydory Lake
in fact is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. Whitewater paddling is good on Arkansas River. This place, the Sawatch Range, has so much outdoors cool stuff. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Arkansas River; from Hunkydory Lake you acquire a great view of Mount Aetna.

Monarch is a family favorite because of great snow conditions and easy access to the mountain.
