At Hot Springs Creek Dam in the neighborhood of Hot Springs Reservoir there are some out of the ordinary things to see; on a nice day you can take a hike along the Coyote Park Trail. Visiting Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and Box Canyon is a wonderful place to spend some time. This lake is so wonderful. Pitkin Campground       is a great local campground, and going for a hike on the Quakey Mountain Trail is always a pleasant adventure. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Monarch, and get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Taylor River. It is very arid here at Hot Springs Reservoir mostly; December is the wettest month with most snow; June is when it's the driest. If you came for an overnight stay Monarch Valley Ranch is a nice site to camp, and do                  put some time aside to spend at Lower Waunita Hot Springs since you're here at Hot Springs Reservoir. Summertime highs at Hot Springs Reservoir commonly tend to be in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 30's. Throughout the wintertime highs are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Hot Springs Reservoir are in the-10's. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are beyond doubt plentiful here at Hot Springs Reservoir. Tomichi Dome is striking and can be made out from Hot Springs Reservoir, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Pitkin Stock Driveway. This lake is so wonderful.
