This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Uncompahgre River in a kayak; hiking is a popular thing to do around Horse Pasture Reservoir; Paradox Road is a wonderful local trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Horse Pasture Reservoir is pretty dried up regularly; throughout October this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. That right there is a lot of cool stuff

| | already but it goes on, the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has it all. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites, and you'll hit upon a wonderful lake called Hofmann Reservoir. If you come at the right time of year, San Miguel River offers some pleasant whitewater. If only every location had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great earth it would be. a good place to camp. High temperatures at Horse Pasture Reservoir through the months of summer are in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's,
and nighttime lows in the 10's for Horse Pasture Reservoir. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites MONTROSE-TOWNSEND is a splendid choice; skiing at Telluride is one of those things you just have to do. This
lake is so wonderful. Paxton Dam is not far at all from Horse Pasture Reservoir, and the Dry Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Uncompahgre
Plateau Mountains. A beautiful lake like Paxton Reservoir in the vicinity of Horse Pasture Reservoir is a tremendous place to take a look at, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Montrose here. Why not camp at The Hanging Tree RV Park since you're here at Horse Pasture Reservoir, and there's good hiking along the Spring Creek Trail.
