Drift down the rapids of Uncompahgre River in a kayak; hiking is a popular thing to do around Horse Pasture Reservoir; Paradox Road is a wonderful local trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Horse Pasture Reservoir is pretty dried up regularly; throughout October this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. That right there is a lot of cool stuff       already but it goes on, the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has it all. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites, and you'll hit upon a wonderful lake called Hofmann Reservoir. If you come at the right time of year, San Miguel River offers some pleasant whitewater. If only every location had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great earth it would be. Dewdrop Springs is always fun to check out; if you came for an overnight stay Hangin Tree RV is                  a good place to camp. High temperatures at Horse Pasture Reservoir through the months of summer are in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's.
