Horse Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Having a great time at Horse Lake is easy. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sweetwater Creek, and a wonderful location to camp here at Horse Lake is Sweetwater Lake Campground. Lakes are great; Hidden Spring Reservoir is a lake that's in close proximity to Horse Lake; why not take a refreshing hike along the High Trail. This lake is so wonderful. | | paddling spot close by, and hiking along the Ute Trail is brilliant fun.
Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Eagle, Co, and you can catch a glimpse of Little Sugarloaf Mountain from Horse Lake. This lake is so wonderful. It is very nice to fish from a boat or bank, but I prefer boat....Wife and I where fishing Stagecoach, then we heard of Yamcolo, it was about 20 mins out of Yampa. We came around the corner of the earthen dam side, looked down the fish where jumpin all over the place grabbed the poles and it was off to the rodoe,15 fish as fast as we could 45min past sorry did not have camera going back this year in couple of weeks can't wait New Castle Colo, Apple Tree Park... |
