This lake is so wonderful. There are other locations here than Horn Lakes, for example Macey Lakes; there's brilliant hiking along the Loop Trail. And if that's not enough there's heaps more enjoyable things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If time allows, Great Sand Dunes National Monument is a national park worth a visit, and great hiking is available along the Venable-Comanche Trail. Horn Lakes gets very little rain;       the wettest month of the year is regularly August, that's the one that rains the most, and January meanwhile is the driest month. If you came for an overnight stay Grape Creek RV Park and Campground is a nice place to camp, and lakes are such peaceful spots, why not go to Dry Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do close to Horn Lakes. Camping is available at North Crestone Campground, and the Rainbow Trail offers                  hiking at its best. Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. The scenic Sangre De Cristo Range is here at Horn Lakes It's always perfect to stop at Macey Falls. From Horn Lakes you acquire a glorious sight of Mount Adams; if you want to stop at some exciting stuff, stop at Copperstain Cliff. This lake is located in the wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. For the duration of the long summer days, highs regularly are in the 80's at Horn Lakes. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 40's.
