Now, you may feel that's heaps but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Hooper Lake. A good nearby hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites, and going for a hike on the South Derby Trail is always a great adventure. For the period of the warm months at Hooper Lake highs are commonly in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are ordinarily       in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Hooper Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Sweetwater Creek offers some delightful whitewater. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Hooper Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sweetwater Lake Campground. This lake is so wonderful. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Grizzly Creek, and after a long day outdoors Carbondale-Days Inn is a glorious site to spend a night                  or two. Hooper Lake is a magnificent site to camp, Coffee Pot Spring Campground is a magnificent site; the slopes of Sunlight Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. Jack Creek flows through this vicinity; nearby you find the Blue Creek Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hooper Lake gets very little precipitation; April is the month that gets the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
