Around Hook Reservoir you don’t get a lot of precipitation; through July this area sees the most rain; January on the other hand is the driest. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Front Range. A lake nearby is Balman Reservoir, and Cotopaxi/Arkansas River KOA is a pleasant campground nearby. Just can't get enough of the Front Range. Hook Reservoir is not far at all from Canon City. There's just no       way anybody can get bored here at Hook Reservoir. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to see at Hook Dam close to Hook Reservoir, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Crossover Trail. A splendid site to check out in the vicinity of Hook Reservoir is Antelope Gulch, and Arkansas River is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. High temperatures at Hook Reservoir throughout the summer are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the                  40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Hook Reservoir. Stay the night at K O A Kampgrounds, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Ute Trail. The Front Range scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful.
