During the summer months, highs frequently are in the 80's at Holbrook Creek Dam, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. On a tremendous day at Holbrook Creek Dam you can take a hike along the Ute Trail; camping is available at Great Sand Dunes Oasis. At Holbrook Creek Dam you don’t see much precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is January. If you came for an overnight stay Blanca RV Park is a nice place to camp, and dry warm beds await you at Alamosa-Days Inn. If the weather is wonderful                  here at Holbrook Creek Dam, you can go for a hike along the Huerfano Trail, and after a long day outdoors Inn of the Rio Grande Hotel and Conference Ctr is a fine location to spend a night or two. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun.
