So many fun things to do at Hog Lake, so little time. Near Hog Lake you stumble on the Matt Trail which is a perfect hiking trail; if you have the time, Dinosaur National Monument is a national park worth checking out. Why not camp at Red Creek Campground since you're here at Hog Lake, and Chokecherry Draw is beyond doubt a good site to check out. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid spot       for whitewater paddling near Hog Lake is Green River, and if you came for an overnight stay Pugmire Pocket Campground is a delightful location to camp. There is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Hog Lake called the Hoy Trail; a cool spot to stop at is Flynn Bottom. Jones Hole Creek is a magnificent whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Hog Lake, and going for a hike on the Joe Trail is always a great adventure. Hog Lake gets very little rain; most of                  the rain falls through May while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Hog Lake through the summertime highs are in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
