Having a perfect time in the Park Range is easy. Camping at Big Green Campground is always a fine experience; a good close by hotel is Evergreen Lodge At Vail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Park Range. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll fancy Hoagland Reservoir Number 1. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Hoagland Reservoir Number 1 is not far       at all from Silverthorne; if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blue River. Not far from Hoagland Reservoir Number 1, you'll come across Lower Cataract Lake which is a striking lake, and after a long day outdoors 9 Vail Road is a great site to spend a night or two. You can never get enough of the glorious skiing at Vail, and a great place to camp here at Hoagland Reservoir Number 1 is Willows Campground. The scenery                  at Green Mountain Dam close to Hoagland Reservoir Number 1 is delightful, and there is a tremendous hiking trail nearby called the Surprise Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Elliott Creek is a stream that you may come across during your stay; on a good day you can take a hike along the Eaglesmere Trail. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Park Range has to offer. Near Hoagland Reservoir Number 1 you hit upon the Sheep Drive Trail which is a great hiking trail; Blue River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby. It is very dried up here at Hoagland Reservoir Number 1 usually; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Eaglesmere Lakes; delightful skiing awaits you at Beaver Creek. All through the summertime months at Hoagland Reservoir Number 1 highs are commonly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's.
