A visit to Hinman Lake is always a good idea. Hinman Lake gets very little rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest month is February. Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Park Range. Not far from Hinman Lake, you'll locate Steamboat Lake which is a beautiful lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Elk River offers some tremendous whitewater. Throughout the warm

| | days of summer here at Hinman Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are usually in the 20's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Hinman Lake sink into the 0's.
The Coulton Creek Trail is a glorious hiking trail right next door to Hinman Lake, and the peak of Anderson Mountain can be made out from Hinman Lake. Since you're here at Hinman Lake why not | |

check out Buffmeyer Draw, and a good nearby hotel is Nordic Lodge of Steamboat.
And if that's not enough there's heaps more fun stuff to do in the Park Range. Going for a hike on the Fireline Trail is always a fine adventure;
Gold Pan Campground is a magnificent local campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay CrossTimbers at Steamboat is a great choice, and if you came for an overnight stay Poverty Bar Campground is a tremendous
spot to camp. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Hinman Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Pearl Lake, and Howelsen Hill has good slopes and a friendly staff.
This
lake is so wonderful. There is a splendid hiking trail close to Hinman Lake called the Hinman Creek Trail, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Elk River. Hinman Lake is a beautiful lake in the Park Range.
