    It's always fun to stop by Himmelland Reservoir. Not much precipitation falls here at Himmelland Reservoir; July is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Don't forget to take a brilliant little tour to Deeds Creek, and Roaring Fork is a brilliant whitewater spot nearby. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Himmelland Reservoir. Good hiking is available along the Last Chance Trail, and why not explore Himmelland  
   Dam while you're here.
This lake is so wonderful. Elk Wallow Campground is a great local campground, and if you need a site to stay VillaHotel La Niche is a nice choice. Just can't get enough of Himmelland Reservoir. Himmelland Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Sawatch Range.
Just can't get enough of the Sawatch Range. Chapman Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop by; tremendous skiing awaits you at Aspen Highlands. This lake is so wonderful.
 
               You're sure to encounter some nice folks from Edwards here, and if you get bored of Himmelland Reservoir you could also stop at nearby Diemer Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Himmelland Reservoir; Chapman Trail is a delightful local trail, and a glorious nearby hotel is VillaHotel Bears Creek.
Himmelland Reservoir is a magnificent place to visit for more than one day, Dearhamer Campground is a magnificent place to camp nearby; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Aspen Mountain. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Himmelland Reservoir, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Himmelland Reservoir. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Sawatch Range. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Sawyer Lake Trail; you can run the rapids of Fryingpan River.

Beautiful drive up to Lede Reservoir.  We started in Eagle and took Sylvan Lake road all the way past the lake and then took a right at the first intersection.  After climbing up and around the peak in front of us we were upon some huge rolling meadows that were among the forrests.  A slight drop down into the valley on the west side of the mountains and a left turn lead us to the reservoir.  It is a great spot with some fishing paths around the water and a number of campsites as well.  We continued west to Gypsum Creek Road and a short drive back to the town of Gypsum....
