     If you feel like a little side journey, try Monument Pass, and a gorgeous lake like Cowpuncher Lake is a brilliant location to take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Cimarron River offers some good whitewater, and on a tremendous day you can take a hike along the Courthouse Trail. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to High Park Lake. There's so much to do here at High Park Lake that you  
   need to camp here for a while, Big Cimarron Campground is a great site for that; get yourself into a kayak and hit Cimarron River. Ouray Chalet Inn is a splendid site to get some rest.
Do stop at Hampton Lake in the neighborhood of High Park Lake, it's a delightful lake; High Park Lake Dam has great water scenery. All through the long summer days at High Park Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the
 
               50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for High Park Lake. High Park Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Beaver Lake Campground is a delightful local campground, and everyone loves High Park.
Not much rain falls here at High Park Lake; the month with most of the rain is September while February is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous close by hotel is Comfort Inn Ouray; if you're here you can take a hike along the Deer Creek Trail. Take a side trip to High Park Creek, and if the weather is wonderful, you can go for a hike along the Lou Creek Trail.
