Higgins Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Denver Meadows Mobile Park is a delightful local campground, and South Platte River has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Higgins Lake, too great to be true. If you're dropping by Higgins Lake from Denver-Aurora, you won't be the only one, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Brighton       is a great site to spend a night or two. Around Higgins Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January. Higgins Dam is an exciting thing to check out; Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites DENVER NORTHEAST - BRIGHTON is a good spot to get some rest. High temperatures at Higgins Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 50's.
