Around Higgins Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is January. Higgins Lake is not the only spot close by, Magers
Reservoir is a close by lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Denver Meadows Mobile Park is a tremendous spot to camp.

Good fishing here if you are willing to experiment. Limited shoreline access because of the weed structures but those weeds hold good size bass. I have found it easy to catch 10-14 inch largemouth in the open spots with plastic worms and surface lures. I have only fished there four times as of this writing (07/13/2007) but have enjoyed each visit. My best fish so far was a 17'' largemouth caught on a Jitterbug. Take the kids!... |
