The Highline Loop Trail offers hiking at its best. Good hiking is available along the Highline Trail, and if you came to camp Alpen Rose RV Park is a great location to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites, and do put some time aside to spend at Indian Spring if you're here at Herrera Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Hesperus Ski Center has great slopes and       a friendly staff; you can run the rapids of Animas River. But wait, there's more to do next to Herrera Reservoir. Near Herrera Reservoir you come across Cottonwood Canyon which is a great place to pop by; as expected, this is a good neighborhood for people who like lakes, Sullivan Reservoir is a lake in the vicinity. Really magnificent skiing awaits you at Durango; Herrera Reservoir is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Durango Yearround RV Park is                  a wonderful local campground. Herrera Reservoir is generally a pretty waterless site; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most while June is mostly the driest month. There's brilliant hiking along the Goodhope Stock Driveway, and if you're visiting from Durango, you won't be the only one. High temperatures at Herrera Reservoir through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's; night lows in the 0's for Herrera Reservoir. Durango/Purgatory Super 8 Motel is a magnificent place to get some rest.
