At Hermit Reservoir 3 throughout the summer highs are in the 70's; the overnight is a little cooler of course, frequently in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Hermit Reservoir 3. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the San Juan Mountains. Don't leave Hermit Reservoir 3 without first going for a       hike along the Fern Creek Stock Driveway, and you can run the rapids of Rio Grande. At Hermit Reservoir 3 you don’t see much rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is plentiful here in the San Juan Mountains. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Silverton is near Hermit Reservoir 3, and do stop at Grouse Creek since you're here at Hermit Reservoir                  3. This lake is so wonderful. There's brilliant hiking along the Long Ridge Stock Driveway; Castle Lakes Campground Resort is a splendid campground here. The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Hermit Reservoir 3 is a great spot to camp, Highlander RV Campground is a great spot; the scenery at Regan Dam is pretty. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Hermit Reservoir 3. A magnificent site for whitewater paddling near Hermit Reservoir 3 is Henson Creek, and while you're here why not take a look at Crooked Canyon. The Cebolla Trail offers hiking at its best, and from Hermit Reservoir 3 you obtain a pleasant sight of Hermit Peak. This lake is so wonderful.
