     This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Hermit Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Highlander RV Campground is a great spot for that, and do go to S Lazy U Reservoirs, it's a pretty lake. Hermit Lakes is a location that is pretty dried up typically; August is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. So many enjoyable things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, just extraordinary. South Lazy U  
   Dam is pretty and it's near Hermit Lakes, and the Fern Creek Stock Driveway offers hiking at its best.
You truly must love Hermit Lakes. A perfect view of charming Hermit Peak is available from Hermit Lakes; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Lake Fork Gunnison River. Really brilliant skiing awaits you at Silverton, and nearby you stumble on great locations like Trouble Hill.
This lake is so wonderful. If you
 
               come at the right time of year, Rio Grande offers some perfect whitewater, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Long Ridge Stock Driveway. And that's not all the things you can do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Hermit Lakes is right by the Cebolla Trail, and a beautiful lake like Hermit Reservoir Number 2 is a great spot to visit. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
Grouse Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth stopping at; if you came to camp Castle Lakes Campground Resort is a good site to do that. Through the warmest time of the year here at Hermit Lakes, high temperatures usually reach the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; night lows in the-10's for Hermit Lakes.
