     Yep, outdoors fun things truly is plentiful here in the Sawatch Range. You could also pop by Ruby Lakes since you're here at Henschel Lake; it's nearby; VillaHotel Bears Creek is a nice place to get some rest. Stay the night at Portal Campground, and what would winter be without some skiing at Aspen Highlands. Henschel Lake gets very little rain; most of the rain falls during August, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
Have a perfect hiking adventure
 
   along the Timberline Trail, and at Henschel Lake you can see Garfield Peak. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Grizzly Lake. There's so much to do here at Henschel Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lost Man Campground is a great place for that. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Henschel Lake is unbeatable! If the weather is tremendous here at Henschel Lake, you can go for a hike along the Matchless Trail; if you need a place to stay The  
               Alpenblick By Aspen Lodging Company is a great choice.
This lake is so wonderful. Very scenic scenery and great skiing is what you get at Aspen Mountain, and a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Lake Creek. Henschel Lake is located in the Sawatch Range. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sawatch Range. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Roaring Fork, and you could always explore Peekaboo Gulch.
While you're here at Henschel Lake you can take a hike along the Star Trail. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Henschel Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. Highs throughout the winter are usually in the 30's with temperatures at Henschel Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.

It is a little more difficult now that there is no potable water, but one can use lake water for dishes, and must bring in drinking and cooking water.Fishing is great - the deer put on a show eve4ry night. The camp hostess, Mary, is there is to help you with problems, and to give great advice.Other than the water problem, this is the greatest camp ground I've ever occupied!...
