You can run the rapids of South Platte River near Henry Lake; Chatfield is a great campground nearby. Henry Lake gets very little precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is January. This lake is so wonderful. Weaver Creek is right next door to Henry Lake and is always a bliss to check out, and a       brilliant location for whitewater paddling is Bear Creek. At Henry Lake during the months of summer highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Henry Lake are in the 10's. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can pop by Henry Lake Dam, and a spree to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is recommended. If you need a place to stay Hampton                  Inn Denver-Southwest/Lakewood is a good choice, and as expected, this is a great area for people who like lakes, Interlaken Reservoir Number 1 is a lake in the vicinity. There is a tremendous hiking trail near Henry Lake called the Beaver Brook Trail; Henry Lake is a site with many visitors from Denver-Aurora. Stay the night at South Park Mobile Home Park, and a good close by hotel is Best Western Denver Southwest. So many exciting things near Henry Lake, definitely amazing. While you're here at Henry Lake you can play some golf at Pinehurst Country Club, and probably you're looking for nearby lakes?
