Why not stop by Heart Lake if you're passing through these parts. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the San Juan Mountains has to offer. The snow is brilliant at Silverton. This lake is so wonderful. West Lost Trail Creek is a pleasant spot to stop by, and Rio Grande is a great whitewater spot close by. Man, is there a heap of amusing things to do right next door to Heart Lake. There's so much to do here at Heart Lake that you

| | need to camp here for a while, Lost Trail Campground is a glorious site for that, and going for a hike on the Ridge Stock Driveway is always a brilliant adventure.
Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The San Juan Mountains is so good! If you need a site to stay Silver Spur Motel is a great choice, and there is a pleasant hiking trail nearby called the Big Blue Trail. and June is when it's the driest. Heart Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Mill Creek Campground is a good local campground, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Fern Creek Stock Driveway.
This lake is
located in the wonderful San Juan Mountains. During the summer months at Heart Lake highs are typically in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and all through
the dark hours in the winter at Heart Lake temperatures fall to the 10's. A brilliant nearby hotel is Matterhorn Motel, and a brilliant spot for whitewater paddling is Henson Creek.
