A visit to Heart Lake is always a good idea. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Boulder Creek; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Berthoud Pass. Drift down the rapids of Clear Creek - West Fork in a kayak; nearby you come across the South Boulder Creek Trail which is a nice hiking trail. Camping is available at Spruce Lodge Campground, and if the weather is lovely, you acquire a pleasant vista of Mount Bancroft from Heart Lake.

| | Camping at Midland Campground is always a great experience, and close by you hit upon Riflesight Notch which is a splendid place to stop at. Around Heart Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; throughout August this area sees the most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Iron Horse Resort is a pleasant site to get some rest, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Loch Lomond.

enough? Just getting warmed up. Going for a hike on the James Peak Lake Trail is always a perfect adventure, and you don’t have to go far from Heart Lake to see the water at Ice Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are glorious;
Reynolds Lake is a lake that's near Heart Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Zephyr Mountain Lodge. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the neighborhood of Heart Lake.
Go for a hike on the Mary Jane Ski
Trail, and you can hit the slopes at Winter Park in the neighborhood. High temperatures at Heart Lake throughout the summer are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Heart Lake.
