Heart Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. After a long day outdoors AmericInn Glenwood Springs is a great site to spend a night or two, and Hunns Peak is clearly visible from Heart Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Supply Basin Campground is a good place to do that, and why not head up to Sunlight Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. There is a brilliant hiking trail in close proximity to Heart Lake

| | called the Fayville Trail; an interesting thing to stop at near Heart Lake is Heart Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Heart Lake, you could also go to stunning Clock Lake. At Heart Lake you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year October is the one with the most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. experience, and the Oyster Lake Trail is a splendid hiking trail close by. Near Heart Lake you hit upon the Bailey Lake Trail which is a good hiking trail; Colorado River is a brilliant whitewater spot nearby. Rodeway Inn Glenwood
Springs is a splendid site to get some rest, and you'll discover a wonderful lake called Heart Lake Reservoir. During the summertime here at Heart Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures
dip down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Heart Lake.

 | 3 PHOTOS Jet lake is also located in the Flat Tops wilderness area so no vehicles allowed but is only about a 15 to 20 minute hike to the lake (an easy pretty flat hike) then about another 15 minute hike into shadow lake , about 15 mor into blair lake and about 15 more into crater lake. Elk lakes are located about 5 minutes from the wilderness area only 1/2 mile to the parking for jet lakes.... some colorado wild flowers... |

Definatly a 4 wheel drive Jeep Trail but only a few miles from Elk lakes, Jet lake, Shadow Lake, Blair lakes , Crater Lake, Deep lake and bison lake. Lots of Cut throat trout, rainbows and browns. Most deffinatly more than a one day trip. Always plan for all kinds of weather, and definitely tent camping only.... |
