Heart Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Heart Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Heart Lake are in the 0's. You can run the rapids of Sweetwater Creek close to Heart Lake, and Benton Lake is a tremendous lake close by. Gardner Park is a magnificent

| | place, and after a long day outdoors Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a perfect site to spend a night or two.
Heart Lake is a location that is relatively dehydrated frequently; March is the wettest month with most snow, and June is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Sweetwater Lake Campground. On a brilliant day at Heart Lake you can take a hike along the High Trail; a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Colorado River.

So much fun stuff to do here at Heart Lake, too perfect to be true. Going for a hike along the Ute Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; a striking lake like Harper Reservoir is a great location to have a look
at. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Eagle, Co is a brilliant choice, and if you're here you can take a hike along the South Derby Trail. Do take a look at Gardner Park Dam since you're
here at Heart Lake. There's so much to do here at Heart Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bucks Campground is a tremendous spot for that.

It is very nice to fish from a boat or bank, but I prefer boat....Wife and I where fishing Stagecoach, then we heard of Yamcolo, it was about 20 mins out of Yampa. We came around the corner of the earthen dam side, looked down the fish where jumpin all over the place grabbed the poles and it was off to the rodoe,15 fish as fast as we could 45min past sorry did not have camera going back this year in couple of weeks can't wait New Castle Colo, Apple Tree Park... |
