Beautiful Hazel Lake has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. Cascade Village is a delightful place to get some rest; the slopes of Silverton are so inviting noone can resist. This site, the San Juan Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. Get wet paddling on Vallecito Creek, and Columbine Pass is a nice spot to visit. Take a hike on the Brooklyn Trail.

| | San Juan Mountains. Hazel Lake is right by the Deer Park Trail; lakes are such peaceful places, why not visit Columbine Lake. A delightful panorama of stunning Bullion Mountain is available from Hazel Lake; hey, Gotta ski right? Kendall Mountain is a nice place to do that. Spruce Trailer Park is a tremendous place for that.
For the period of the days of summer here at Hazel Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. The cold days
of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Hazel Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Soar down the rapids of Animas River in a kayak; Chicago Basin is a glorious place
to stretch your legs a bit. Man, is there heaps of cool stuff to do near Hazel Lake. The Whitehead Trail offers hiking at its best, and you can stay the night at Vallecito Campground.
This lake is one of the great places here
in the San Juan Mountains. Hazel Lake is pretty dehydrated commonly; August is the month that gets the most rain while June is regularly the driest month.
