After a long day outdoors Knights Inn Walsenburg is a great site to spend a night or two, and some of the water nearby flows, like Echo Creek. These mountains rock, just explore all the entertaining things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. The top of Goemmer Butte is easily observed from Hayes Reservoir, and the scenery at Mill Lake Dam is picturesque. And if you're still looking for       more outdoors exciting stuff just keep reading. During the days of summer here at Hayes Reservoir, high temperatures generally get into the 80's, and the night is a tad cooler of course, commonly in the 50's. Through the winter highs are usually in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Hayes Reservoir. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If the weather is great here at Hayes Reservoir,                  you can go for a hike along the Wade Trail, and Rilling Canyon is around here, and is a splendid place. Hayes Reservoir gets very little precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is January. A lovely lake like Marker Lake close to Hayes Reservoir is a splendid site to stop by, and Eldora has good slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Best Western Rambler is a pleasant choice, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Grandote Peaks Golf Course. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do close to Hayes Reservoir. Profile Rock is an attention-grabbing location to go to while at Hayes Reservoir, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Black Hills Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The Peaks Trail is a pleasant hiking trail near Hayes Reservoir, and camping is available at Bearadise Cabins and RV Park.
