If you need a spot to stay The Spruce Lodge is a good choice, and going for a hike along the Highline Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. Around Hay Press Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. And that's       not all there is to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Some of the water close by flows, like Fisher Creek, and if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Farmers Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Lake Humphreys, and a magnificent site for whitewater paddling is Rio Grande. This lake is so wonderful.
