     Hay Press Lake gets very little precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is June. For the duration of the summer months here at Hay Press Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Hay Press Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Stay  
   the night at Broken Arrow Ranch; lakes are such calm spots, why not explore Hunters Lake.
But wait, there's more fun things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Lake Fork National Recreation Trail; Turret Peak is a peak you can spot from Hay Press Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A short trip to Wagon Wheel Springs is always worthwhile, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Hay Press Lake; Farmers Creek Trail is
 
               a delightful local trail. A glorious close by hotel is The Spruce Lodge.
This place is excellent, just look at all the exciting things to do near Hay Press Lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Hay Press Lake has to offer, you can camp at Mining Camp RV Resort, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Wolf Creek. It's a good idea to pop by Fisher Creek, it's in the vicinity of Hay Press Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Grande. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Don't leave Hay Press Lake without first going for a hike along the Highline Trail; fine water scenery is available at Hay Press Park Dam near Hay Press Lake.
There are other places here than Hay Press Lake, for example Lake Humphreys, and if you need a site to stay Allington Inn and Suites is a splendid choice. Hay Press Lake is a beautiful lake in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
