    The beauty of Hatter Pond is reason enough to stop by. Get wet paddling on Canyon Creek, and a quick journey to Elbert Creek is certainly a pleasant idea. This lake is so wonderful. The view of beautiful Castle Rock near Hatter Pond is glorious, and pleasant skiing awaits you at Silverton. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting things the area near Hatter Pond has to offer. Paddling on Animas River is so much fun, and Purgatory Lodge by Durango  
   Mountain Resorts is a great location to get some rest.
Very tremendous water scenery is available at Lake of the Pines Dam in the vicinity of Hatter Pond; not far from Hatter Pond you'll find Boyce Lake which is a pretty lake. And that's not all you can do here at Hatter Pond. You might want to pay a visit to Line Canyon since you're here at Hatter Pond. While you're here at Hatter Pond you can take a hike along the Highline Trail, and there's no such thing
 
               as a bad day of skiing at close by Kendall Mountain.
This lake is so wonderful. There is a splendid hiking trail next to Hatter Pond called the East Fork Trail; you can stay the night at Purgatory Campground. If you need a place to stay Cascade Village is a tremendous choice; there are other sites here than Hatter Pond, for example Electra Lake. On a good day at Hatter Pond you can take a hike along the Circle Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Hatter Pond has to offer, you can camp at Haviland Lake Campground.
Summertime highs at Hatter Pond typically tend to be in the 70's while nighttime lows are generally in the 30's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's with temperatures at Hatter Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Hatter Pond gets a common amount of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while June is generally the driest month.
