So many enjoyable things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, just astonishing. Coyote Hill is       beautiful and can be seen from Hatcher Reservoir; don't leave Hatcher Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Piedra Stock Trail. Around Hatcher Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; July is the wettest month with most rain, and June is when it's the driest. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Wolf Creek; since you're here, you could also check out striking Stevens Reservoir. In case you don’t have a problem getting                  drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Juan River. Hatcher Reservoir truly is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. Going for a hike on the Fourmile Stock Trail is always a great adventure, and a nice close by hotel is Fairfield Pagosa Resort. This lake is so wonderful. Near Hatcher Reservoir you stumble on a golf course called Pagosa Springs Golf Club, and there are nice places to look at along the Martinez Creek Trail. And that's not all you can do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A fine place to camp here at Hatcher Reservoir is Turkey Springs Campground, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Pagosa Springs is a magnificent place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. You'll find a scenic lake called Perino Reservoir near Hatcher Reservoir; if you desire a little side spree, try Nichols Draw.
