This lake is so wonderful. Monarch is a delightful local ski area; Super 8 Buena Vista is a nice site to get some       rest. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Ski Cooper. That right there is heaps of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Sawatch Range has it all. Get dripping wet paddling on Clear Creek; Hartenstein Lake is not the only place nearby, Kroenke Lake is a nearby lake. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Sawatch Range. A glorious place next to Hartenstein Lake is Browns Pass; if you need a spot to stay Best Western                  Vista Inn is a perfect choice. Soar down the rapids of Arkansas River in a kayak; on a good day you can take a hike along the South Pine Creek Trail. For the duration of the summer months here at Hartenstein Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's, and the overnight is a little colder of course, usually in the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Hartenstein Lake temperatures plunge to the-20's. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Hartenstein Lake you can take a hike along the Horn Fork Trail, and why not camp at Hughes Meadow Campground if you're here at Hartenstein Lake. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Hartenstein Lake.
