The Bailey Lake Trail offers hiking at its best; Harker Park Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Hill Creek Campground and Trailhead is a great place to camp nearby. Harker Park Lake is a location that is rather dried out frequently; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. You'll need more than

| | a day to look at everything Harker Park Lake has to offer, you can camp at Clark Cabin Campground, and you don’t have to go far from Harker Park Lake to spot the water at Gregor Dam. some great whitewater. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn, and do take a hike on the Last Chance Trail. For the period of the warmest time of the year highs here at Harker Park Lake reach the 80's. For the duration of the
dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are frequently in the 30's, and night lows at Harker Park Lake during the wintertime typically sink into the 0's.

Elk lakes are located about 5 minutes from the wilderness area only 1/2 mile to the parking for jet lakes.... some colorado wild flowers... |

Definatly a 4 wheel drive Jeep Trail but only a few miles from Elk lakes, Jet lake, Shadow Lake, Blair lakes , Crater Lake, Deep lake and bison lake. Lots of Cut throat trout, rainbows and browns. Most deffinatly more than a one day trip. Always plan for all kinds of weather, and definitely tent camping only.... |
