This lake is located in the wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Yep, outdoors cool stuff to do are truly plentiful here at Hanging Lake. Go for a hike on the Music Pass Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp North Crestone Campground is a nice spot to do that, and do go to Macey Lake, it's a lovely lake. Camping at Cross D Bar Trout Ranch is always a good experience; you'll       hit upon a pretty lake called South Colony Lakes. There are tremendous places to look at along the Rainbow Trail, and you can catch a sight of Broken Hand Peak from Hanging Lake. Throughout the summertime months, highs usually are in the 80's at Hanging Lake; during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Hanging Lake are in the 0's. That right there is heaps of entertaining things                  already but it goes on, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains has it all. Going for a hike on the Marble Mountain Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and the views at Great Sand Dunes National Monument will blow your mind.
