Hancock Lake is always a pleasure to visit. During the warm months, highs generally are in the 70's at Hancock Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Hancock Lake are in the-20's. That right there is lots of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Sawatch Range has it all. Hancock Lake is near Chalk Creek Pass which is undeniably worth taking a look

| | at, and you can stay the night at Middle Quartz Campground. Looking for something near Hancock Lake? Billings Lake is nearby, and hiking along the Coyote Park Trail is good fun.

close proximity to Hancock Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Buena Vista Super 8 Motel. There's so much to do here at Hancock Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Garfield Campground is a delightful place for that.
The
skiing at Monarch is pleasant, and the top of Brittle Silver Mountain is easily seen from Hancock Lake. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Arkansas
River, and Hancock Lake is right by the Pitkin Stock Driveway. If you need a site to stay Best Western Vista Inn is a good choice, and Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is a great local destination.
This lake is one of
the great places here in the Sawatch Range. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Sawatch Range. Arkansas River is a good whitewater spot in close proximity to Hancock Lake, and why
not take a refreshing hike along the Fooses Creek Trail. It is very dry here at Hancock Lake usually; most of the rain falls during August, and the driest month is June.
