Stay the night at Dolores River RV Park, and needless to say, all our national parks are wonderful sites to explore and Mesa Verde National Park is no exception. All through the summer at Halls Reservoir highs are generally in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Halls Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. You could also visit Miller Reservoir while

Whitewater paddling is perfect on Dolores River, and a lake close by is Trail Number Two Reservoir. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Halls Reservoir. Point Stock Driveway is always a splendid adventure. This lake is so wonderful. There is a good hiking trail right next door to Halls Reservoir called the McPhee Stock Trail, and Days Inn Cortez is a perfect spot to get some rest.
At Halls Reservoir you don’t see much rainfall; October is the wettest month with most rain; June is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. The Stoner Stock Trail is a magnificent hiking trail in the vicinity of Halls Reservoir, and a delightful nearby hotel is Dunton Hot Springs.

Puett Reservoir
 | 11 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 11 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |

 | 15 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
