If you need a site to stay The Pines Lodge is a great choice, and a brilliant place for whitewater paddling is Eagle River. All the outdoors amusing things in the Sawatch Range will keep you coming back time and again. Dry warm beds await you at Hyatt Mountain Lodge, and from Halfmoon Lake you obtain a good view of Avalanche Peak. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Halfmoon  
   Lake, you could also go to striking Fairview Lake; get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Fryingpan River.
High temperatures at Halfmoon Lake through the warm months are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 30's; nighttime lows at Halfmoon Lake throughout the wintertime mostly drop into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes
 
               of nearby Vail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Halfmoon Lake has to offer, you can camp at Elk Wallow Campground. You'll discover a pretty lake called Eagle Lake near Halfmoon Lake.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sawatch Range. Going for a hike on the Lake Charles Trail is always a perfect adventure. There's so much to do here at Halfmoon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Fulford Cave Campground is a nice location for that. There are tremendous sites to discover along the Last Chance Trail, and Halfmoon Lake is a location with many visitors from Edwards. Be careful coming to Halfmoon Lake, you might not ever wanna go home again. Go for a hike on the Ironedge Trail; you can hit the slopes at Beaver Creek in the vicinity.
Halfmoon Lake is ordinarily a quite dehydrated site; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month is February. Halfmoon Lake is located in the Sawatch Range.

Beautiful drive up to Lede Reservoir.  We started in Eagle and took Sylvan Lake road all the way past the lake and then took a right at the first intersection.  After climbing up and around the peak in front of us we were upon some huge rolling meadows that were among the forrests.  A slight drop down into the valley on the west side of the mountains and a left turn lead us to the reservoir.  It is a great spot with some fishing paths around the water and a number of campsites as well.  We continued west to Gypsum Creek Road and a short drive back to the town of Gypsum....
