     If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Silverton, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Vallecito Creek. This spot, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, has so much outdoors cool things. Half Moon Lake is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Vallecito Campground is a splendid place to camp nearby, and the snow is tremendous at Kendall Mountain.  
   Hiking is a popular thing to do around Half Moon Lake; Pine-Piedra Stock Driveway is a glorious local trail, and Buffalo Peak is simple to spot from Half Moon Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll find a beautiful lake called Rock Lake near Half Moon Lake. Throughout the long summer days at Half Moon Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's. Summer night lows drop down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; night lows during the wintertime
 
               for Half Moon Lake tend to be in the 0's. Good hiking is available along the Deer Park Trail; do stop at Lake Mary Alice, it's a wonderful lake.
This place, Half Moon Lake, it definitely has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Don't leave Half Moon Lake without first going for a hike along the Whitehead Trail; there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Animas River. Half Moon Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. At Half Moon Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most; June on the other hand is the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel, and you can stay the night at Pine River Campground.
